Announced 16th lace festival

On Thursday, 6 September at the premises of the House of Culture was held a press conference with the aim of announcements 16th international festival of lace Lepoglava 2012. The festival will be held from 20 to 23 September, and organizers are Eco Museum, City Lepoglava Tourist Board Lepoglava and TKIC Ltd.

To the press were addressed Mayor of Lepoglava Marijan Škvarić and president of Eco Museum, Dejan Bjelivuk, which this year will be the first time the main organizer of the festival. Bjelivuk briefly introduced the program which is specifically that this year for the first time at the festival will be exposed lace from Polish and Sicily, while the members of the Order of St Benedict. St. Margaret from Pag for the first time to expose their laces out of his monastery.

At this year's festival the visitors , will have the opportunity to see lace from Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, Slovenia (Žiri, Železniki and Idrija) and Croatian (Hvar, Pag, Sveta Marija Sikirevci, Trg beside Ozalj , Split, Lepoglava).

Exhibit spaces will be in the region of the future museum (behind the church), Funda Centre (by Konzum), Gostinjac, churches, gallery "Jamnić" and in the House of Culture.
The festival will commemorate memory of the Danica Brößler to which on occasion of the 100th birth and 20th anniversary of the death, will unveil a memorial plaque.

The festival will be held through lectures and workshops from which especially noteworthy are Marianne Stang on identifying Laces, Tatjana Tkalčec O najstarijem bateku , Tihana Petrović corpse of Danica Petrovic Brößler.

From entertainment program this includes performances by various cultural societies and children's band from Slovenia, Hungary and Croatian. In the evening part of the program will perform bands Premium and Enigma while special treat will be performance of Ivane Smith on Saturday 22nd September

Parallel with lace festival will be held 3rd Fair of traditional handicrafts and traditional crafts. The fair will be held in a tent on the terrace Ivančica on Saturday and Sunday.
